WHAT WE DO

In conversation with Mr.Maurya:

Tell us about your brand.
I don’t have a brand but I am known by my trade name of Lalit Mourya Calligrapher. I do freelance calligraphy for clients across the world.

When did you know that this was the right path for you?
I was introduced to calligraphy and letter art more than three years back through a friend. With my fine art background and keen interest in developing my talents, I found this a very exciting outlet for my creativity. Very shortly after taking it up, I realized that I wanted to take this up as not only a passion but as a career.

What do you like most about what you do?
It is a unique way of expressing myself. Few people in India are exposed to this and it gives me the opportunity to stand out as a creative professional. Also I love the fact that I get the chance to guide and coach budding artists in this field.

What is the biggest obstacle you have faced in your career, and how have you overcome it?
If you have real passion for something, you do not think of obstacles. I would say the only difficulty is to find good teachers who can help you learn more.

If your phone could ring right now with your dream opportunity, what would that be?
An opportunity to travel around the world showcasing my work as well as interacting with masters is my dream right now.

What do you want people to remember most about you and your career?
A person who followed his passion with utmost sincerity and dedication is how I would like people to remember me.
